The Partner
Atrium Animal Hospital, located in Charlotte, decided to include a solar system to their facility back in 2015. The animal hospital’s well-respected team is known for their top of the line care and friendly service. They are committed to the health and wellbeing of their customers’ pets.
The Challenge
The veterinary clinic began looking for cost-effective actions they could take that could also protect the natural environment. They sought a project that would distinguish them in their field without ever compromising the reliability and excellence of care for their patients.
The RENU Solution
The veterinary clinic was able to discover a compelling rationale for building solar into its plans with Renu Energy Solutions. Not only would they become more competitive by saving on monthly fixed costs, but going solar also enabled the company to use tax credits and other business tax strategies to accelerate the financial benefit of going solar. In fact, a federal tax credit essentially paid for 30% of the project cost to the customer.
The plans laid out that a 25 kW system would be the appropriate size to make a significant difference in their utility costs.
Within its first year using solar power, the clinic avoided over 58,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions. This is equivalent to the annual energy use of 2.8 average homes. It takes 31 acres of U.S. forests to reduce the same amount of CO2 in a year.

The Anne Springs Close Greenway has gone solar! They provide recreational, educational and community activities and facilities in the Fort Mill area. The Greenway is a 2,100 acre nature preserve which offers hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, and more to its visitors. Nestled as a natural oasis amidst the Fort Mill and greater Charlotte area bustle and growth, the Greenway sees over 275,000 unique visitors annually. The mission of the Greenway is to “connect people to nature through recreational and educational activities while fostering a passion for environmental conservation, animal habitat, and protection of natural resources.”
The Challenge
The Anne Springs Close Greenway demonstrates their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability in several ways. In 2019, the Greenway constructed a new welcome center called the Gateway. The Greenway Gateway employs a variety of passive and active sustainable systems that aim to drastically reduce energy consumption, improve thermal comfort, conserve water, and improve indoor air quality. The Gateway’s sustainability initiatives serve to engage, educate, and inspire future generations while driving leadership in environmental conservation and stewardships. Because of all of this, they were constantly looking for new ways to add environmentally friendly upgrades, which caused them to investigate energy alternatives like solar.
The RENU Solution
This investigation led them in the direction of Renu Energy Solutions. After getting into contact with Renu’s experienced team members, they discovered that their facility would be able to support a solar system, and they committed to the project. It was decided that they could install a 22.11 KiloWatt system, which allows them to have the greatest environmental and economic impact possible.
Even though the main goal of this project was to benefit the environment, the Greenway will also be able to save a substantial amount of money from their monthly utility costs. This will allow them to put those saving into other endeavours that will be of greater use to them.
The system will produce around 26,400kWh annually offsetting 41,151 pounds of carbon dioxide.

CASE STUDY: Piedmont Cardiovascular

As local Greensboro medical practice expands into its new location, owner Jay Ganji has made the decision to include solar in construction plans! Piedmont Cardiovascular is a growing provider of care in their area, whose goal is to effectively treat patients to the highest standards achievable with “respect, empathy, and professionalism”.
The Challenge
While reconstructing Piedmont Cardiovascular’s new building, Jay Ganji had 2 important goals, making his business “green” and achieving “net zero” energy expenses. But what was going to be the route to take in order to achieve these? After realizing that solar would likely be the best option, he got into contact with representatives from Renu energy solutions and began discussions on this possible undertaking.
The RENU Solution
While meeting with the representatives, both parties were able to come to an understanding of what the system would have to look like to fit the practices expectations. After learning about the installation details and the smooth process, they officially decided to move forward with the project.
In order to significantly offset the expected utility bills, the roof was assessed and the recommendation of a 30.015 kW solar system was made. This deal became even more attractive to the practice because federal incentives including a tax credit would also be able to help the project generate savings right away.
In the first full year the system will produce around 39,900 kWh. The practice is estimated to save around over 62,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions.

Lee Roy’s Wholesale, a local business to Abingdon, Virginia, has made
the decision to go solar! This community staple specializes in bringing
businesses and individuals the best deals for the wide variety of products
they have to offer. They have received high praise from their customers
for their unmatched hospitality and service.
The Challenge
Despite all of their love from the community, LR Wholesale faced a
sizable problem: Electric costs were already hitting the business hard,
and looming rate increases were troubling. In the face of this dilemma,
the owner of the business developed a vision for investing in their own
sustainable power.
The RENU Solution
The owner found Renu Energy Solutions and consulted with their
experienced staff about this ambitious dream to go solar. Renu then
drew up a plan and began the process of bringing the project to fruition,
in close dialog with the customer.
The business owner learned that a 295 kW solar system would be
suitable for offsetting utility bills, and that there would be ample roof
space available for an installation of this size. Federal incentives
including a tax credit would also be able to help the project generate
savings right away. Because of all this, LR Wholesale made the official
decision to move forward with the installation.

CASE STUDY: David’s Car Care
NORTH WILKESBORO
North Carolina
$8,000
SAVINGS IN THE
FIRST YEAR
The Partner
Family owned automotive repair facility, David’s Car Care, made the commitment to going solar in 2018! Their dedicated and experienced staff has a true passion for providing the highest quality of care for customers. Offering a wide range of services, they ensure that you will be able to find the help that you need when you visit them. Their commitment to service and sustainability makes them stand out against their competitors.
The Challenge
There are so many components that go into running a successful independent business. Constantly increasing utility costs present an inconvenient and frustrating challenge with no benefits. In an effort to eliminate this obstacle, owners of David’s Car Care wanted to search for an alternative that would provide them with security.
After discovering solar, they learned that they could not only benefit financially but also ecologically by reducing their carbon footprint and lowering their emissions. These advantages sparked their interest and led them to solar energy company, Renu Energy Solutions, who began informing the owners about the solar process.
The RENU Solution
Renu’s highly trained team explored the business’s facility and was able to confirm that the building had optimal space for a 56 kW system. The large and flat roof is not obstructed by any trees that would cause excessive shading, this allows for the system to be incredibly efficient and have a high rate of production.
David’s Car Care also decided to partner with Renu Energy Solutions due to the fact that they are both independent local businesses. They believed that it was important to support each other in the spirit of the “buy local” mindset.
The array will produce 77,000kWh annually and offset 120,000 pounds of carbon dioxide yearly. This is equivalent to the amount of carbon sequestered by 71 acres of U.S. forest area or 135,092 miles driven by the average passenger vehicle.
