Duke Energy North Carolina Net Metering Changes
According to Duke Energy North Carolina, homeowners have until October 1, 2023 to be included in their 1:1* net metering program before additional fees are added. After October 1, 2023, customers who invest in a solar energy system will no longer have the 1:1 net metering rate. To receive 1:1 net metering when going solar, HOMEOWNERS MUST APPLY FOR AN INTERCONNECTION WITH DUKE ENERGY NORTH CAROLINA BEFORE OCTOBER 1, 2023.
If you do not invest in a solar energy system by October 1, 2023, HOMEOWNERS WILL BE FACED WITH DUKE ENERGY NORTH CAROLINA’S MODIFIED NET METERING OR NEW TIME OF USE PROGRAM.
*1:1 – equal credits of excess kWh provided to the grid as bill credits
